Session Style: Little Boy (blue)
Picking out your outfits for your session can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be! Color choices do matter, as they set the tone for they type of images you are wanting. I prefer the light and airy look, so for me, I lean towards neutrals, light blues, and lights greens. So today, I am going to show you some great light blue based options for little boys!

More than just the color, you need to consider things like texture, pattern, and length! During your session, you will likely be in several different positions. Also keep in mind, kids are kids, and will jump, play, roll, cartwheel and act like, well, kids! So try and allow for that in your outfit choices, as you consider what images you are hoping to get as an end result. I love the above options because they are different color tones, as well as so many different textures. Getting textures in adult outfits can be challenging, especially in the dads, but utilizing all the different fabric choices for small children is key to adding interesting elements to your images. I LOVE the look of a little boy in suspenders, but make sure you try them on first to get the right length so they aren't sliding down the whole time, and you may way to consider a bodysuit underneath for the little dudes, as a shirt can slide up and over the top, giving a more disheveled look. IMPORTANT!
Please, please be mindful or your little dudes undergarments! If he is still in a diaper, those little characters and wet/dry lines can easily show through. It's not a bad idea to get a pair of bloomers for him to wear under the light colored fabric to hide those unwanted colors and images to show through. Same goes for our potty-trained little dudes, but with underwear. Please be mindful of what color underwear they are wearing. The sun has a way of letting it all come to light (see what I did there?)! So go ahead a grab a pair of light, or skin colored underwear!
