Carseat Saga

Picking out the right carseat feels like such a daunting task. I have to say, I took a backseat (pun intended) in the choice of our infant carseat and handed over the reigns to hubby. He is the engineer and the researcher, so he did it all and came up with the perfect choice (more on that later)!

Little did we realize as first time parents that you don't actually keep the first carseat for that long. The next carseat is the one that you need to focus on. So, back to the research until we found the best one! We were introduced to the Diono 3XRT by a friend. Well actually, I looked in their backseat and saw it and asked a ton of questions, then continued the research at home.

Here is what we love about it. It has a slender steel frame leaving more room in the backseat for either more carseats or people! It is definitley a "grow with me" seat. This can actually be an infant seat, as they have an infant insert, as well as it has capabilities to face both backwards and forwards. Once forward facing, it has a five point harness with several strap adjustment heights available. Once your child has reached the appropriate height\weight the seat becomes a high back booster seat. Its the carseat that can be used through all the stages and changes!

Travel! Because of slender build of the carseat, it is easier to travel with than most others. The seat actually folds up; the bottom of the seat folds towards the top of the seat. A red strap from the top of the seat comes out and loops through a spot on the bottom of the seat to hold it all compactly together. We have taken these seats to Costa Rica, Canada, Seattle, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Etc. We love knowing that our kids are safe, no matter where we travel with them!
